Ecological assessment of meadow-chestnut soils of the solonetzic complex ameliorated by means of afforestation in nonirrigated conditions in the Northern Caspian Region

The moisture and salt regimes and properties of meadow-chestnut soils of the solonetzic complex meliorated by means of planting forest belts in the Northern Caspian Region have been observed at the Dzhanybek Station of the Russian Academy of Sciences since 1951. On the basis of this long-term monitoring, the anthropogenic evolution and the agroecological status of these soils are analyzed.
