Russia calling for Belgian apples: Production of Belgian apples may be expected to drop this year, but optimism reigns, and interest in the Russian market, as well as in Asia, cannot be dampened

According to forecasts announced at Prognosfruit in Ukraine last montii, Belgian apple production should fall by some 27 per cent in 2010, from last year's 344,000 tonnes to around 251,000 tonnes. However, such a drop is seen by some exporters as an opportunity rather than a threat.
