Cherry Passion sizes up new markets in eastern Europe: Despite an expected lack of medium to large sizes this season, the Italian marketer is hoping to boost its sales in a number of eastern European markets this year

SMALLER sizing and an earlier start to the season have caused a certain degree of uncertainty at the outset of this year's Italian cherry campaign, but Italian exporter Cherry Passion will be pressing ahead with sales to existing markets while also making an even bigger play for new clients in eastern Europe. The company, which was launched two years by Greenery Italia, the Italian arm of Dutch fresh produce giant The Greenery, will supply Italian cherries to a number of customers in the UK, Italy, Germany and other eastern European countries this year, as well as shipping limited volumes to the Far East.
