Colofnbia is eyeing a position of leadership on the exotic market by profnoting its image as a quality supplier. Gill McShane speaks to Adriana Senior, president of CCI Colombia, about how the move could help guarantee a stable and sustainable futurefor the country. WHAT have been the reasons behind the move to boost exports of exotic fruits to the US and Europe? Ultimately, the objective is to develop the Colombian agriculture industry in order to create an environment in which new companies and investment will be encouraged into the sector. Through this, we aim to generate more employment and greater exports, thereby offering growers, particularly in rural areas, the opportunity to produce a high-value and quality crop for the international market. Hopefully, this will reduce the dependence on cocaine production and bring greater peace and stability to Colombia as a whole.
