Russia next on the hit list for Pakistani kinnow exporters

WITH a bumper kinnow crop exported last season, and international buyers having become more aware of the Pakistani product, exporters are now looking to increase the kinnow's market share and make further gains in 2005. "The kinnow is the king of alleasy peeler varieties, with export figures rising every year," comments JMB Exporters' chief executive Javed Ahmad. "Around 150,000 tonnes of Pakistani kinnows were exported in 2004, the juice content being the highest of all easy peelers at 44-47.5 percent, and the sugar content standing at 12-13 per cent."
