But the Spade Ranch, first established south of Colorado City, TX, in 1889, is not only surviving, it is "always looking for places to expand," says Jim McAdams, assis- tant general manager. The ranch is prospering. In fact, CEO and President Dub Waldrip was honored by the National Cattlemen's Association as Region IVs top environmental steward for 1994.
