Terry Forst is a forward thinker whose enthusiasm is downright infectious. Since she came back to the family ranch at Caddo, OK, in the fall of 1993, she's been running full blast toward keeping better records and using SPA (Standardized Performance Analysis) to analyze the ranch's performance. "Being a low-cost producer is the only way we'll survive," says Forst, who ranches with her father, R.T. (Bob) Stuart, on the Stuart Ranch, the oldest ranch in Oklahoma under continuous family ownership. Since her return, they've now expanded and added another ranch (Waurika Division) to the operation, mostly to provide wheat pasture for their 1,000-head Hereford and Black-Baldie herd.
