Pre-analytic drying of the unfertilized soddy-podzolic soil samples from the A l horizon at room temperature and in a thermostat at 105degreesC affects the amount of extracted mobile phosphorous, potassium, and nitrate compounds. The impact of drying may be most clearly observed upon successive repeated extracts from soil. Thus, testing of samples from the plow horizon of the fertilized soddy-podzolic soil and the southern chernozem proved that soil drying raises the mobility of phosphorous and potassium depending on the kind of applied fertilizer, soil properties, and temperature of drying.
