Karsten Group to launch new brand: Fresh from receiving a coveted award from leading retailer Tesco, the company is looking to build on its excellent reputation as a major grower-exporter

Leading grower-exporter Karsten Group will be one of the most prominent South African participants at this year's Fruit Logistica and will use the event to launch its new Karsten brand. Karsten Group has not only started the new South African table grape season with the promise of a good crop but is also walking tall after being named as UK supermarket Tesco's International Grower of the Year for the Southern Hemisphere at an annual awards dinner held recently in London. Founded by Piet Karsten in the 1970s, Karsten Farms has since the 1980s consistently been the country's leading grape producer. This year the group expects to ship around 3m cartons of grapes, before extending its marketing activities to its Egyptian grape production between May and July.
