Turkish exporters have faced some mighty challenges over the past 1 year, not least in managing unrealis-I^hf tic expectations. Despite the chaos ^^^^^^ surrounding the country, from the destruction and fear wrought by Islamic State in Iraq to the civil war raging in Syria, commentators in Europe widely and confidently predicted a Turkish bonanza as a result of the Russian embargo on EU and US produce. Such projections, however, proved unfounded.
