摘要

Two plant geneticists at the University of California, Riverside have receiveda US$450,000 grant from the usda's National Institute of Food and Agriculture to develop a genetic tool that citrus breeders can use to improve the efficiency with which new varieties are bred. Mikeal Roose and Timothy Close will lead the project on developing what's referred to as a high-density genotyping array for citrus based on genetic variations, an important tool that geneticists and molecular breeders use to perform genetic analyses of animals and plants.
