One Direction singer's endorsement earns Irish and US companies valuable PR points and a possible rise in sales among teenagers. Irish tropical fruit marketer Fyffes and its US counterpart Chiquita received an unexpected PR boost in April when Harry Styles, one-fifthof British pop music group One Direction, posted a photo of their bananas to his nearly 3m Instagram followers around the globe. Accompanied by the short but undeniably cheery comment "Baby nanas", Styles' snap had been tagged as a favourite by more than442,000 people just a week later, attracting in excess of 25,200 comments - the majority no doubt from legions of the groups teenage fans.
