DEVELOPMENT: MINISTERS MULL IDEAS FOR MEETING UN GOALS AHEAD OF SEPITEMBER SUMMIT

The European Union is committed to achieving the United Nations' Millennium Development Goals ("MDGs"), Luxembourg's Development Minister Jean-Louis Schiltz stressed on February 15. He indicated that EU member states would take a position in April with a view to a United Nations summit this September, which should assess progress towards meeting goals such as reducing global poverty by half by 2015.
