EUIACP: EURO 1.4 BILLION FOR POVERTY PROGRAMMES

The European Commission announced on December 19 it had cleared dozens of aid projects in Africa, Caribbean and the Pacific (ACP) countries, covering a total of Euro 1.4 billion. Aid grants flow through the Commission's machinery regularly, but the current package gathers a wide range of different projects, and are last to be adopted in 2003. It brings the total engagements for 2003 under the ninth European Development Fund (EDF) to Euro 3.2 billion.
