Few readers will have failed to spot the new plastic bag charge. The Government's guidance below may be of use: "We have introduced a law The Single Use Carrier Bags Charges (England) Order 2015 which will require large shops in England to charge 5p for all single-use plastic carrier bags from 5 October 2015. We expect that the charge will reduce the use of single-use plastic carrier bags, and the litter they can cause, by encouraging people to reuse bags.
