In the field of automotive testing systems, new evaluation methods has been developed for complete car and their components (i.e. transient performance analysis and virtual test). The drive motor used for such evaluation test applications is required to have various characteristic features of being compact, small diameter, low inertia, high power, and good response. In addition to such features, the required performance is the simulation capability of excitation performance of torque fluctuation and it is required for transmission test system. In order to meet these requirements, we developed a Permanent Magnet (PM) type dynamometer. We made incremental improvements on the PM type dynamometer and increased product lineups.
