'So why did you become a nurse?' Reflections from a second-year student

That is not to say that I have found the last 2 years easy, because I haven't. I have been reading a number of student nurse blogs and the one common theme running through all of them was that the second year is tough. The newly qualified nurses who were our 'buddies' when we first started our course had also told us that they too had found the second year incredibly demanding and stressful. The assignments were harder, the learning opportunities were more intense, and everything comes at the same time.
