Maroudas, a resident in Shiplake, appeared as a litigant in person in the Court of Appeal to argue that the path which leads from Shiplake Lock to Shiplake Meadow, via a railway bridge, before reaching a set of stone steps leading to the river should not be treated as a Byway Open to All Traffic, useable not only by pedestrians and cyclists, but also by motorised vehicles.
