Connection to a public sewer

At the end of December last year in Barratt Homes Limited (Respondents) v Dwr Cvmru Cyftmsedie {Welsh Water) [2009] UKSC 13, the Supreme Court handed down an important decision concerning the rights of a landowner to connect drains to a public sewer. This was said to be the first dispute in a century and a half between an owner and sewerage undertaker as to the point of connection to a public sewer to have reached the courts.
