Flood and Water Management Act

摘要

The Flood and Water Management Act aims to improve both flood risk management and the management of water resources. It received Royal Assent on 8th April 2010. The Act attempts to define clearer roles and responsibilities in relation to flooding and mandates a more risk-based approach. There are new roles for local authorities in relation to local flooding by managing the risk whether from surface water or watercourses.
