Ethnomedicine for skin diseases in East Godavari district ofAndhra Pradesh

摘要

The paper deals with 67 species of plants covering 59 genera and 36 families used for curing skin diseases by the tribals of East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh. Of these, the species belonging to Euphorbiaceae and Fabaceae are the dominant families with 6 species each, followed by Apocynaceae and Poaceae each with 4 species; Malvaceae, Rutaceae and Solanaceae each with 3 species. Habit-wise analysis shows the dominance of shrubs followed by trees, herbs and climbers. Morphological analysis showedmaximum utilization of leaf in more practices followed by root, seeds, fruits, whole plant and others.
