Ethnobotanical study in Sunsari district of eastern Nepal

An attempt has been made to compile the ethnobotanical utilisation of M) species of plants belonging to 45 genera under 37 families in. day-to-day life of different ethnic groups such as Tharu, Satar, Sunuwai, Mooshar, Rai. Magai and Nevvar in Sunsaridistrict of the eastern region of Nepal. The traditional knowledge regarding the use of these plants is widely applied by these ethnic groups. The diverse ethnic communities together with the luxurious Holistic diversity offer ample scope for ethnobotanical study in this district. The indigenous groups depend either directly or indirectly on the products' of the forests for their livelihood and have, down the ages, preserved the knowledge about the traditional and cultural uses of plants.
