摘要

Computer aided mine planning needs accurate digital terrain models (DTM). They are of importance for all further planning steps. The quality of such DTMs depends on the density of measured points in the raw data sets. This article is introducing the technology of terrestrial 3D Laser Imaging as a fast and accurate possibility to acquire 3D surface data. A case study describes the features of the system and highlights especially the advantages of the technology for quarries.
