Combustible gases from renewable en-ergy sources ("alternative combustible gases ") such as biogas and hydrogen front the electrolysis of electrica! energy surplus e. g.from wind farms may be injected into the public pipeline System. These alternative combustible gases might have a significant negative impact on Underground gas storages (UGS) with regard to the following areas: 1.formation damage inporous rock storages 2. corrosion of subsurface installations 3. corrosion of surface installations 4. damage of armatures.
