First oil from Statoil Canada's oil sands project

Statoil's Leismer Demonstration Project (LDP) started production after initiating steam injection in September 2010. LDP, approved to 10,000 b/d, is the first phase of the Leismer project, which is expected to ramp up to its rated capacity of 18,800 b/d within 24 months, pending final approval by Alberta Environment.
