The message was clearly seared into the flesh of my face and chest. With my left eye swollen shut, I stared into the bathroom mirror through one watery eye. My hands were shaking as I plucked hot bee stingers from my cheek, forehead, eyebrow, and across my bare chest. My only thought was, / really didn't see that coming.
