In the Fall, beekeepers count on late blooming bee plants to carry the colonies through the Winter. Goldenrods and asters generally deliver. However, a number of other perennials can make important contributions. Among these nectar and pollen plants are wild flowers and garden perennials. For the most part, these are easy to grow, displaying few insect or disease problems.Any surplus honey is generally mixed with that of other Fall blooming species. With a few exceptions, honey descriptions are rarely available for these plants.
