Boeing Seeks U.S. FAA Approval for ‘Green Diesel’ Biojet Fuel

Boeing announced January 14 that it’s seeking U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approval for allhydrocarbon, “green diesel” biojet fuel in aviation. A bio-derived kero-jet fuel (which can substitute for ordinary diesel fuel) “emits at least 50% less carbon dioxide than fossil fuel over its lifecycle,” according to Boeing.
