Spain Limits Argentinean Biodiesel Imports

Spain has issued a reprisal affecting its biodiesel exports in response to Argentina’s seizure of Repsol YPF, according to the Wall Street Journal. The new measure mandates all biodiesel mixed into fuel processed in Spain come from EU countries. This effectively cuts off the direct flow of Ar- gentine biodiesel to Spain, which in 2011, at about US$991 million (?750 million), represented about 45% of Spain’s biodiesel consumption.
