Females of the Midge Genus Chironomus Meigen (Diptera, Chironomidae): II. Ch. balatonicus Devai et al., Ch. muratensis Ryser et al., Ch. nudiventris Ryser et al., and Ch. entis Shobanov of the Ch. plumosus Species-group

Females of Chironomus balatonicus, Ch. muratensis, Ch. nudiventris, and Ch. entis of the Ch. plumosus species-group are described. A number of new morphometric characters have been introduced for the reliable diagnostics of females of sibling speciesof the Chironomus plumosus species-group (Polukonova, 2001). In the present communication, females of 4 species of the group are described: Ch. balatonicus Devai et al., Ch. muratensis Ryser et al., Ch. nudiventris Ryser et al., and Ch. entis Shobanov. The terminology and designations follow those given in Communication 1 (Polukonova, 2001). Adult midges were reared using the generally accepted method by Shilova (1976).
