U.S. Coast Guard Enters CRADA with Cummins on Marine Biodiesel Blends

In mid-December, the U.S. Coast Guard announced its in- tent to enter into a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with Cummins, Inc., to identify and investigate the advantages, disadvantages, required technol- ogy enhancements, performance, costs and other issues as- sociated with using biodiesel fuel blends in marine inboard engines, with the overarching goal of reducing their green- house gas emissions.
