Chinese Researchers Report First Microbial Synthesis of Sabinene as Biofuel Precursor

Researchers from the Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences reported February 10 in an open access paper published in the journal Microbial Cell Factories the first microbial biosynthesis of sabinene – a monoterpene that can serve as an aviation biofuel precursor – from an engineered strain of E. coli.
