In "The Simple Magic of Talking 'Horse'" (EQUUS 343), I discussed the importance of earning the position of leadership in your relationship with your horse. I also outlined a few groundwork exercises to get you started. In this article, I'll introduceexercises to help you solidify your leadership on the ground and prepare you to take that foundation into the saddle. Before getting on with the new lessons, I'd like to review the three points made in my first article because they are integral to building a satisfying relationship with your horse.
