Exxon’s Vietnam power play

State-owned PetroVietnam has signed an agree- ment with US major ExxonMobil to develop the Asian country’s largest gas project for power gen- eration. The Blue Whale project aims to produce the first gas for power plants by 2023. PetroVietnam said the project would contribute nearly US $20 Bn to the state budget, but it gave no timeframe for that income.
