A Modified Procedure of the Polymerase Chain Reaction without DNA Extraction and Its Advantages

The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) without DNA extraction, which has been successfully employed in human genetics, is proposed for herpetological studies. The protocol of experiments is described in detail. The method is especially promising for population genetic studies with large samples and for examination of rare and endangered reptile species.
