Volvo CE purchases Ingersoll Rand road development division

Volvo Construction Equipment has signed an agreement with Ingersoll Rand to purchase the company's road development division for USD1.3 billion in cash by the second quarter of 2007. Ingersoll Rand's road development unit accrued revenues of USD864 million last year. The division manufactures and sells asphalt paving equipment, compaction equipment, and construction related material handling equipment and milling machines.
