The body of the 2017 F-Series Super Duty trucks is made from military-grade aluminum alloy that Ford says is more dent-resistant than the steel it replaces. Mounted on a high-strength steel frame, the alloy helps reduce curb weight by up to 350 lbs. The models provide the most towing and hauling capability ever delivered by a Super Duty, with a 21,000-lb. maximum conventional tow rating and 7,630-lb. maximum payload. Up to seven cameras on board help drivers see more angles, monitor conditions 360° around the truck and make maneuvering trailers easier. Trailer reverse guidance helps coach drivers through backing a trailer. Adaptive steering reduces necessary steering input at low speed and dampens steering sensitivity at higher speeds. Adaptive cruise control and collision warning with brake support use sensors to detect slower vehicles moving in the same direction.
