Description of Three New Water Mite Species of the Genus Hygrobates (Acariformes, Hygrobatidae)

Illustrated descriptions of three new water mite species of the genus Hygrobates are given us follows: H. (Hygrobates) biwaensis, male, female, and deutonymph; H. (Hygrobates) rams, male and female; and H. (Hygrobates) variabilis, female. All three species were found in Lake Biwa. Japan, and one of them, H. variabilis, was also recorded from a lotic water body located in the Ussuriiskii Reserve (Primorskii krai, Russia).
