A Review of Flower-Flies of the Genus Hammerschmidtia of Russia, with Description of Larva of H. ingrica (Diptera, Syrphidae)

Refined data on the distribution of Hammerschmidtia ferruginea Fallen and H, ingrica Stackelberg (Diptera, Syrphidae) in Russia are given. The biology of H. ingrica is described for the first time. The morphological characteristics of these species are compared. Adult H. ingrica differs from H. ferruginea in the narrow (in lateral view) surstyli and in details of the structure of the aedeagus Larvae of this species differ in long dense hairs on the dorsal surface of the body. In H. ingrica, the dorsolateral papillae are the largest.
