The decision to give its G Series dozer line a "facelift," as well as upgrade its technology to keep pace with the changing construction market, was no small matter for John Deere Construction Equipment. After all, says Phil Larson, manager ofproduct planning for the dozer scraper and articulated dump truck lines, "The G Series already offers reliability levels exceeding any product that Deere builds:"while improving upon the G Series proved an engineering challenge, the resulting H Series line appears to be just what the manufacturer needed to maintain its stake as a leader in the under 100-hp crawler dozer class. The 450H is already in the hands ofdealers, with the 550H and 650H scheduled for availability in August of this year.
