Perstorp (Perstorp, Sweden) says that it has acquired the pentaerythritol (penta), dipentaerythritol and sodium formate businesses, related technology as well as certain assets from chemicals producer Koei Chemical (Tokyo). Financial details of the deal have not been disclosed. As part of the business transfer, Koei Chemical will act as Perstorp’s agent in Japan, the company says. For Perstorp, this acquisition is part of a plan to strengthen the company’s position in the Asian market and it creates an additional investment platform, which will allow the company to expand the penta business in the future.
