Pyrotenax MIMS high performance cables now in Tyco Thermal Controls global

MINERAL insulated metal sheath (MIMS) cable has a reputation for performance in the field for over 70 years since its introduction into the market place in the 1930's. Swiss engineer, Francois Borel, first developed mineral insulated cables in 1986 with the first commercial production by Pyrotenax starting in the UK in the 1930's and Australia in the late 1950s. After 40 years, the established supply of MIMS cables to the Australian market changed with cable manufacturer ownership over the last decade, fostering a market perception that MIMS cables are no longer available.
