Major exudate flavonoids of Dubautia arborea (Asteraceae)

Dubautia arborea (A. Gray) Keck (Asteraceae, Helenieae, Madiinae) is a large shrub to small tree endemic to the Island of Hawaii where it grows in scrub and alpine desert habitats between 2125 to 3000 m elevation (Carr, 1985). Dubautia, along with Argyroxiphium and Wilkesia, comprise the so-called "silversword alliance." The specimens for this study were collected in the area of the silversword exclosure in the Wailuku River drainage (eastern flank of Mauna Kea) at about 2800 m. Vouchers are deposited in HAW
