All the growth characters, viz., plant height (cm), stem diameter (cm), spread of plant (cm) and number of leaves more significantly influenced by medium increase in plant spacing and nitrogen in marigold. Maximum growth in terms of plant height, stem diameter, spread of plant (cm), number of leaves and length of flower stalk was exhibited in treatment combination S3 N2, when the planting were done at spacing of 40x30 cm and applied 150 kg N/ha. The minimum growth in all parameters was manifested mostly in treatment combination S, N, when planting was done at a spacing of 20x30 cm with 100 kg N/ha. The minimum days taken for first flower bud initiation (22.50) were recorded with treatment combination S4N3 (50x30 CM+200 kg N/ha), followed by S3N3 (23.33) and maximum number of days taken for first flower bud initiation (38.60) were recorded with S1N1 (20x30 cm+100 kg N/ha). The parameters related to flower like number of flowers per plant, size of flower head and weight of flower were recorded maximum with treatment combination S3N2 (40x30 cm+150 kg/ha). The flower yield quintal/ha, was recorded highest in treatment combination S3N2 (40x30 cm+150 kg N/ha).
