BACKGROUND: Air pollution has been associated with adverse neuro-logical and behavioral health effects in children and adults. Recent studies link air pollutant exposure to adverse neuro-developmental outcomes, including increased risk for autism, cognitive decline, ischemic stroke, schizophrenia, and depression.
