Helminth parasites in relation to length of three freshwater fishes of Dolu Lake of Silchar, Assam, India.

The present study investigated the patterns of prevalence and intensity of infection by helminth parasites in relation to different length groups of three freshwater fishes, i.e., Channa punctatus, Notopterus notopterus and Puntius ticto of Dolu Lake, Silchar, Assam. The overall result showed three patterns of relation which were increasing prevalence and intensity of infection by helminth parasites from small length groups to large length groups of Channa punctatus; increasing prevalence and intensity of infection with small length groups of Notopterus notopterus upto certain length groups then declined in the largest length groups; and prevalence and intensity of infection in middle length groups of Puntius ticto.
