An experiment was conducted with 24 treatment combinations, namely, four wheat varieties (Lok-1, GW-190, GW-173 and Raj. 3077), three showing dates (November 9, 23, and December 7) and two seed rates (100 and 125 kg/hectare) laid out in split plot design with three replications, keeping sowing dates and seed rates in main plots and varieties in sub-plots. The results showed that the variety Lok-1 recorded the highest effective tillers per meter row length, grains per spikelet, test weight, grain yield (57.45 q/hectare) and biological yield (136.61 q/hectare). When compared with varieties GW-173, GW-190 and Raj. 3077 corres-ponding increments were 8.77, 17.72 and 17.81 percent in grain yield and 11, 99, 12.03 and 13.16 percent in biological yield.Yield attributes like effective tillers per meter row length, ear length, grains per ear, grains per spikelet and test weight decreased with delay in sowing beyond November 23. There was significant reduction in grain, straw and biological yields as a result of delay in sowing beyond November 23. Seed rate of 125 kg/hectare gave significantly higher grain, straw and biological yield by 7.45, 9.25 and 8.51 percent, respectively over seed rate of 100 kg/hectare.
