Stability Analysis for Economic Traits in Cluster Bean [Cyamopsis tetragonoloba (L.) Taub.] Genotypes

Stability analysis was carried out in 30 genotypes of cluster bean over four environments created by two dates of sowing with two irrigation levels to identify stable genotypes that could perform more or less uniformly under different environmental conditions for various economic traits. Analysis of variance found significant among the environments. The genotype x environment interaction was also significant for all the characters. The genotype x environment (linear) component was significant only for characters like days to 50% flowering, pod length, 100-seed weight and seed yield per plant indicating that genotypes are predictable based on such characters. The mean sum of squares due to pooled deviation (non -linear) were also significant for allthe characters except seed yield per plant indicating role of all the characters. However, genotypes RGC 1066, RGC 1038, RGC 1002, RGC936, RGC 1055, RGC 1031 and RGC 1017 were found relatively stable for seed yield as well as for other economic traits.
