Causes of Low Productivity of Pulse Crop in District Hardoi of Uttar Pradesh

Present study was designed with the aim to see the causes of low productivity of pulse crop in District Hardoi of Uttar Pradesh. For said purpose a survey was conducted with 135 respondents of in three each randomly selected villages from purposely selected three CD blocks of Hardoi district. The study compared of 135 respondents, 45 from each block on random basis the data were collected with the help of interview schedule prepared for the purpose. The results indicated that non available of qualityseed of pulse and the adulteration of seed of were the main factors which restricted the cultivation of pulse crop. The unplanned marketing system, cost of input more than output, less support by Govt, agency were also the main factors which restrictedthe cultivation of pulse crop in the locality of the study. It is further added that utilization of natural resources timely supply of input-irrigation, plant protection would help to produce a large quantum of pulse crops.
