Utilization of carbon dioxide - a novel method for the management of Caryedon serratus (Oliver) (Coleoptera: Bruchidae) on stored groundnut.

Effect of three concentrations of carbon dioxide (30, 40 and 50% of the volume) for a period of 3, 6 and 9 months was studied on the management of Caryedon serratus (Oliver) and its influence on seed quality attributes particularly germination, moisture content and vigor on TMV-2 variety of ground nut was conducted during 2010-11. All the three concentrations of CO₂ were found to be effective in reducing the per cent pod damage and number of adult survival without affecting the germination, moisture content and vigour index of treated pods.
